Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum has one of the largest natural history collections in the world. The building is impressive with cathedral like structure, frescoes and some sculptures and the central hall is home to an astounding Diplodocus skeleton.
There are many interactive exhibits like:
'Dinosaurs', the ultimate dinosaur exhibition
'Creepy-Crawlies', guaranteed to have you scratching in minutes
'Human Biology', the must-see exhibition about ourselves
'Ecology' and 'Mammals', with its unforgettable blue whale.
'The Power Within', offering an 'earthquake experience'
Ice skating will also be available from November to January (specific dates yet to be confirmed).

Facilities
Opening Times
Everyday 10:00 – 17:50 Last admission until 17.30. Open late on the last Friday of each month. It is closed 24 - 26 December.
And the entrance is free.





The museum is divided into four colored zones.
Red Zone:
Discover the wonders of our planet with volcanoes, earthquakes and the giant Earth model.
Green Zone
Learn Earth’s ecology. Explore the great Central Hall including Charles Darwin's statue and learn about the meteorites that shaped this planet.
Blue Zone
Learn about the dinosaurs, also learn about mammals including the great blue whale, and learn about our body.
During this busy Easter school holiday period, please be prepared for long queues outside and inside the Museum, especially for the Dinosaurs gallery.

Orange Zone
Explore the new Darwin Centre and don't miss our Wildlife Garden highlights





There are many ways to reach us:

By tube: We are within walking distance of South Kensington station on the District, Circle and Piccadilly lines
By bus Routes: 14, 49, 70, 74, 345, 360, 414 and C1 stop near us. Some tour buses also pass nearby
By bicycle: There are cycle parking facilities by the Cromwell Road entrance.
By car: Driving to the Museum is not easy and parking is expensive, there is limited meter parking on Exhibition Road
